I would suggest however you have a visit to Clay Helberg's site ...

and scan through some of the Textbook and Software links ... to get an idea of what is out there. There is a lot of excellent online instructional material ... and many different stat packages ... you can try. Some you can download and install for free ... many have free 30 day trials that you could examine ... but in any case ... I agree that getting a decent software package is a better way to go that using a calculator (though APstat ... emphasizes use of calculators).
