Greetings, I am new to survey methodology, but not new to statistical analysis. Could someone please point me to a text(s) for analysis of survey data? I have seen refences to a branch of this methodology called "complex survey data." However, I'm not exactly sure what this encompasses.
Some of things that I am interested in are: creation of indicies from survey items (how and why they are used), weights (why are they used, when should they be used, what type should be used, consequences of not using them, and how to create them), different types of variance estimation, imputation methods and handling non-response. I would be very grateful if someone could provide some suggestions for both theory and application-oriented texts (graduate level).
