This is fun and I'm sure very useful if I were a student or researcher. I had a couple of problems. Perhaps you can help?
Following your link, I downloaded and unpacked sage-3.4.2-i86pc-SunOS+toolchain.tar.gz on OpenSolaris 2009.06 on x64. I started sage. The first command I entered at the sage: prompt was notebook(). This prompted me to create a password, which I did. I was then told to open my browser to http://localhost:8000. Attempting this resulted in a Failed to Connect error. Back in my terminal window, I no longer had a prompt. I tried entering exit and quit, but those seemed to do nothing. I entered Ctrl-C and got "select() error: Interrupted system call". I finally just opened another terminal window and killed sage. I restarted sage and tried some of the commands from the tutorial. They worked great. I still do not see any information about how to quit, but I entered "quit" at the "sage:" prompt and it worked. I tried the online notebook, and it works beautifully. I would like to get notebook working on my laptop. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
