i can only tell you what happened this year and only in my particular faculty ( universidad de buenos aires (UBA), facultad de ingenieria, Argentina www.fi.uba.ar) january 1:start of summer vacactions, exam period break january 29: end of summer vacations, end of exam period break march 13th: start first semester july 1st: end of first semester, exam period starts august 21st: end of exam period, start of second semester december 9th: end of second semester, exam period starts however, every faculty has it's own schedule that might not be just like this one nacho
