I read about the support Sun provides to acedemia. The No Cost Resources were
particularly of interest and I recommend checking them out. However, I have a
question about the support. Does Sun provide any assistance or support to
those of us in Adult Education? I am in charge of Computers and Office Skills
Training (COST) at Adult Community Education, a division of Canton City Schools
(Canton, OH). We are accredited through NCA, just like colleges and
universities in our area, but we offer certificate programs not degrees. Sun's
No Cost Resources seem to discount Adult Education. The chart specifically
shows "degree granting" post-secondary and K-12 institutions as those eligible
for certain resources.

We provide customized workforce development for area employers and their staff
as well as for job-seekers, by providing them with high-quality education in
technology. We are absolutely committed to the development and delivery of
technology education. I would hope that Sun would want to make their offers
available to organizations such as ours and others like us across the state and
the nation. We are professional, we are non-profit, we have the ability to
offer financial aid (such as Pell grants) to our students, and we are
accredited by the same body that accredits the K-12 and Post-Secondary schools.

My interest is more than just for the furthering of my institution. I am also
the newly elected President of the COST taxonomy for the Ohio Association of
Customized Training Specialists (OACTS) and would love to report at our Fall
meeting that Sun is supporting our efforts.
