Assuming this is accurate... I can understand that as statement as to industrial design - one can be productive having no more than the capacity of an 8 year old. I don't understand it as a statement connected to education, though I understand in the context of edu-sig as purporting to be. Doesn't mean that there isn't something there. Just that "eight year olds can do it" certainly isn't enough to express it - at least to me. Why in fact is this a step forward - as an educational matter for eight year olds - compared to, say, folding paper? Is that obvious to everyone else but me? I guess I can be as persistent in expressing this point of view and asking these questions as there are posts to edu-sig persistent in ignoring that someone active herein questions these assumptions.
