Gavin
The card is recognized by the OS and it seems to find my network it just keeps
returning the same message asking me for a passphrase. (the wireless network
card is internal) I have changed it to 64 bit hex as I am able to wirelessly
connect using windows based pc's, it does connect to the net using the wired
network cable. As with the usb device it was a usb modem for when I'm on the
go. I dont understand what you mean by stanza? I haven't booted the laptop yet
to have a look on what you mean by opening up a terminal. (please clarify)

Allan

Hello there,

I like the look of this UBUNTU just i'm having problems with two things.

1. I've set up and created my wireless network. However for love no money it
wont accept my Network Key it keeps coming back with the same screen asking for
the wireless network key. (yes the network key is correct because me windows
wireless network card takes it!)

2. Its Doesnt seem to accept usb devices. How do I get it to do this?

Thanks

Allan

One problem I've occasionally had is that I needed to change the key type
when the key window popped up to say 64-bit hex or whatever. You might
want to try that.

What wireless network card do you have? The brand and serial number are
useful to a certain extent, but we need a little more detail than that. If
it's a built-in or PCI one, you can open a terminal and type:

    sudo lspci -vv

if it's a USB wireless card, you need to do:

    sudo lsusb -v

you should in either case get a stanza relating to each pci or usb device.
If you can paste it into the email that'd be a help.

What USB devices have you tried? In general, USB storage devices should
work fine. Not _every_ USB device has drivers, but most do.

Gavin
