Hello,

I am helping setup a computer system for Friends of the Earth in
Birmingham UK.

 I have 3 questions.

 1. Similar to what Jonathan D. Proulx asked on Jan 24 this year....

How do you configure a particular machine to auto login without a
password? I am hoping to setup a machine in our Vegetarian Cafe for the
public to surf on. So I didn't want any password or user login.

2. Related to the question above how do you setup a machine so that only
their home directory is accessible and they cant see anything else? Do I
need to create a seperate group for the cafe surf box and then chmod the
other top directories on the system to not have rwx access privileges
rights to this particular group ?

3. Local device access - Some of the PC's in our building are
distributed around the place so we could really do with LDA running.
Were using the 6.06 Dapper edbubuntu I think because it includes
long-term support. I've tried Edgy Eft 6.10 and have got the LDA working
easy. However I think our computer guru who's overseeing the system
wants 6.06. I have found some info regarding getting this working at

  http://wiki.ltsp.org/twiki/bin/view/Ltsp/LTSP-42-LocalDev

However this is specifically for 5.10 breezy badger.

I have tried following the instructions but have not had much success.
Does anyone know of any instructions for getting LDA to work on 6.06.

  Thanks

  Ian
