1. In Hamburg, during the First International OpenOffice.org Conference
held in 2003 I seeded the idea the OpenECDL & OpenICDL.
That is the ongoing production of top quality courseware available for free
to people wishing to get their ECDL/ICDL certification based on
Open Source Software.
2. I know that the idea has sprouted in many Countries.
So, now it is time to make a survey of national initiatives; try to coordinate
them; and even try to consolidate them into a worldwide initiative.
3. Aside the OpenOffice.org 2005
(see: http://marketing.openoffice.org/ooocon2005/index.html),
DIDASCA has promoted the meeting of the supporters of the
'Opensource ECDL/ICDL Consortium', the Organization that fosters the
OpenECDL & ICDL concept.
The meeting will take place at Hotel Koper on Sept 30th, from 11:00 to 13:00.
4. Everybody interested in the ECDL/ICDL certification is kindly invited to join.
