Hi Thieme,

I did a quick scan through the code and can't find a way to disable it.
This is unfortunate, as it seems reasonable for folks to want to do this.
It also seems that the UI is not resilient to the bookmark service being
down.

Here's the PR that added the UI:

If you're comfortable making code changes, a PR to allow bookmarks to be
disabled would be excellent.
