Hi Jeff, Which version of the software are you using? I don't see this error message in the code any more, so I can't diagnose exactly what is happening.
My first thought would be to look in the LMS log. In case you haven't done this before, follow these instructions: https://openedx.atlassian.net/wiki/display/OpenOPS/Common+Issues+and+How+to+Fix+Them#CommonIssuesandHowtoFixThem-LMSshowsamessage "Therehasbeena500error" Are you running this on devstack or fullstack? With devstack, you need to make sure you have the comment service running: https://openedx.atlassian.net/wiki/display/TNL/Discussions+FAQ Let me know if any of this helps. If not, let us know the version of software you are using, and how your are deploying it.
