Hi everyone,

I am currently in the process of learning how to write/deploy XBlocks,
using the great documentation available there:
http://edx.readthedocs.io/projects/xblock-tutorial/en/latest/index.html
However, I'm under the impression that what I have in mind is not doable
through XBlocks so I'd like to double check beforehand with people who have
experience in XBlocks. Concretely, my goal would be to deploy a tool
available on multiple pages (think like the chat widget on GMail or
Facebook). I'm aware that each page one loads within edX reloads
everything, so it would have to be reloaded as well, but except for this,
would it be doable with XBlocks?

In other words, all the examples of XBlocks I have seen so far are elements
one includes inside a given page of the course, but could one be installed
at the course level to be visible on every single page of the course? If
not, what would be the way to go?

Thanks in advance for your insights!
