I have a similar problem but not connecting the wired and I'm on a EEE
701. What stage of the connection are you reaching? Would that be
associated already and executing a dhcp request? The workaround I use
is purely in software, restart nwam

This may be related to what I have been experiencing. This would be a
problem post resume and when the access point is different from the
one it was connected to upon resume
