ok .. so i gave up my Acer Aspire One, for a netbook with 802.11n, GbE, BT, at least a 6 cell, and one that i could easily upgrade to 2G RAM (acer has a hideous keyboard to remove and a billion screws to take it up to 1.5GB) - so i went with the asus eeepc 1000he which seemed like a good idea at the time ..
on the AA1 all was pretty good except for a somewhat minor suspend/ resume bug with compiz - this was apparently fixed in 113 or so .. drivers seemed okay - just a little flaky on the ath wireless if i left it on overnight .. now on the 1000he - some finagling to get my beadm reloaded here (hint: put your beadm on a separate USB zpool named something other than rpool, monkey with the menu.lst, reload the zpool.cache file there, and add a "-r" to the kernel line to get your usb device to rebuild when it boots) .. i'm currently on build 117 and have networking working with Masayuki's atge driver from nifty.ne.jp for the onboard, and the SUNWrwn driver from nv117 for the wireless ralink (0x1814,0x781) .. so i set S3-support to enable and enable suspend from the gnome power menu on laptop close .. if the atge is connected and active .. i get the suspend, but no resume .. if it's not active - i do get the suspend/resume, but then the trackpad stops working known issues, or existing bug reports? i'm sorry - i'm too lazy to look right now --- .je
