Hi Masafumi,

Did you try installing b118 on SSD or a SDHC card on your 900 when
it failed ? I have noticed on earlier versions I have installed, it makes a big
difference in success rate if it's installed on SDD, SDHC or USB media.

I recently downloaded osol-1002-118-x86.iso from genunix.org,
which I believe is build 118 and I got it to install fine on my Eee 900
on the main SSD from a live DVD.

However, I could not boot up the live osol-1002 usb version from memory
stick after using usbcopy to copy the image to the stick. It always complained
about missing device names so I gave up on the USB stick and used DVD-rom.
On the other hand, I can boot from a live Knoppix USB memory stick so
the USB hardware should be OK.

Also, I failed to install build 118 on external USB drive and SDHC. I could only
install it on the main SSD but I have always had some problems with installing
on SDHC on my Eee, even some Linux versions fail to install on the SDHC so
there could be something bad with the USB/SDHC bus interface. On the other,
hand I can always use the SDHC for data storage.

Regards,

Karl D.
