I haven't had a chance to try your distribution yet, but I do run
2009.06 (nv_118 currently) on my 701. I'd be interested in hearing if
you find any difference in system performance with compression=on.
A long time ago, I seem to remember trying with compression=on (only a
4gb ssd in the 701) and finding that the system felt a lot slower due to
the slow CPU in the 701. These days I just run normal uncompressed zfs
root, and live with the limited disk space by putting large files on the
external SD card, but I admit, I haven't tried this experiment again
since.
Do you find performance with compression=on with the 701 acceptable, or
do you notice any difference in performance between compression=on and
compression=off?
