As part of the workshop, we are planning to hold virtual "poster sessions" and "social hours" to facilitate discussions between the workshop attendees and faculty from a variety of institutions. We are hoping to time these interactive events to overlap with standard east-coast and west-coast faculty lunch times. Thursday, Oct 14, 12-1pm EDT / 9-10am PDT: Poster Session (EE and AI&D #1) Thursday, Oct 14, 3-4pm EDT / 12-1pm PDT: Social Hour (All Areas, Area-Based Socializing) Friday, Oct 15, 12-1pm EDT / 9-10am PDT: Poster Session (CS and AI&D #2) Friday, Oct 15, 3-4pm EDT / 12-1pm PDT: Social Hour (All Areas, Area-Based Socializing) If your faculty lunch (or other faculty meetings) overlap with these events, would you consider blocking off these time slots in advance to encourage faculty to attend the Rising Stars events? (This is just a preliminary request so that we can assess timing/participation. We will send over additional information closer to the event for you to forward to faculty.)
