Hi,

Our small office has an internal Sendmail server. LAN users send/receive
email via this MTA. I recently started using endian community as our office
firewall (just red/green zones) so I could use the OpenVPN functionality.

The firewall installation, configuration etc. went well (not counting remote
users email!). When a remote users is connected, that user can ping
everything on our green network. They can use our DNS server (so can ping
all our servers by name). They can browse the internet. Also, local users
can ping the remote machine (again, both by explicit IP address and by
name). In most every respect it's as if they are "in the building".

BUT... when they attempt to send email via our mailserver they are not
allowed. When I look at the mail log is contains an entry stating "relaying
denied for host <firewalls internal green ip>" (I can post the exact log
entry if it will help). What puzzles me is that it's the firewalls IP it's
rejecting, and not the IP of the remote users machine. It's as if the
firewall is NAT'ing the packets or something?

The SMTP proxy on the firewall is not enabled at the moment. Are there any
tests I could run to find out more what's going on? Anybody else had this
problem?
Many thanks for any input!
