The new files are named *.rpmnew to prevent your old files &
settings from being erased. You are right that they need to
be renamed, but you have to do it.

You will need to transfer any custom settings from the old
files by editing, and then delete the old files (or rename
them if you want to keep them for a bit). In your case,
there are probably no settings you need to transfer.

Use nano to edit - very nice little editor.

There was a file that needed to be retained, if I remember
correctly. I'm about to build a new efw box for a customer,
so I'll be doing all this today or tomorrow.

Thank you compdoc.

I did the update as described and got this output at the end

Preparing...
###########################################
[100%]
   1:perl-Mail-Clamav
########################################### [
20%]
   2:clamav warning: /etc/clamav/clamd.conf
created as
/etc/clamav/clamd.conf.rpmnew
warning: /etc/clamav/freshclam.conf created as
/etc/clamav/freshclam.conf.rpmnew
########################################### [ 40%]
   3:clamav-db warning:
/usr/share/clamav/daily.cvd created as
/usr/share/clamav/daily.cvd.rpmnew
########################################### [ 60%]
warning: /usr/share/clamav/main.cvd created as
/usr/share/clamav/main.cvd.rpmnew
   4:havp
########################################### [
80%]

5:perl-Mail-Clamav-extras###################################
########
[100%]

Now my question: changing the clamd & freshclam
configuration files:
how to start the editor and how to rename/activate the new
configuration
files that they will be used. I haven't rebooted yet as it
is not finished
yet.

Another point: I am assuming the daily.cvd.rpmnew and
main.cvd.rpmnew will
be renamed to dily.cvd and main.cvd as sson as the reboot
and initial start
of clamav 0.94 is done. Is that correct ?

The version which is on is clamav 90.1 from the first
install of efw 2.1.2

Johannes
