Sorry, but I dont think this would be right. I've switched my EFW-KVM-Guest
to use virtio for my NIC's and it works out of the box. Okay, I've not
explicitely checked that the virtio drivers were loaded, but I've never seen
an auto-fallback to the default emulation NIC.

I've also tried to use the virtio for my harddisk. This is currently not
working as the init image doesn not contain the virtio disk driver. Endian
could easily fix this.

And, causal to the 2.6.27.x kernel of the EFW 2.4 it runs a lot of smoother
within my KVM host. I've not measured the difference but my CPU usage of the
EFW guest was always one of the highest (even during idle)... with EFW 2.4
with is at the same as all my other guest (debian >2.6.26).

I was running 2.2, so I couldn't upgrade. I installed 2.4 from scratch into
a virtual machine, and although it did crash and reboot one time when I was
adding fixed leases to the DHCP service, it's been running pretty solid
since. I really like the dashboard. And unlike 2.2, it actually emails
reports to me now.

I use centos 5.5 and KVM as the vm server. EFW 2.4 still doesn't support
virtio nics, so I use the emulations, but it works fine.

Does anyone know if the 2.4 upgrade from 2.3 works fine. Also is it worth
it? Like is it usable or things are breaking or what? From the mailing list,
it seems there are alot of issues cropping up in usability as well

Regards,
Satish
