The static methods are on the CMP entity beans. They don't get put on the
generated classes and we use them directly off the EntityBean say
CustomerBean.myStaticMethod(). We'll move this to the home class when that
becomes possible.

Nobody commented whether this is a violation of the spec. Maybe somebody
will this time.

Sachin.

p.s - Even though we can't have custom methods on home right now,
we've
added such methods as static methods on the beans themselves and
added
methods to our session beans to wrap these. I know there is
restriction on
having non final static variables but I don't think there are
restrictions
on having static methods on a bean. We've done this for the same
reasons -
we want entity class behavior on the entity and not on session
beans. Anyone
know if we are violating the EJB specs ?

I am interested in knowing whether you added the static methods to the CMP
or BMP beans.
Maybe this is a question way near the newbie's league:
I know it is possible for BMP but what about CMP?
If it is, how do we generate the code for that? Do we modify the container
generated files?
Did you hear anything about spec violations clause of yours? I didnt see
anything on the current thread.
Thanks
