Hi folks!
Has anyone made any benchmarketing tests on different EJB servers? I
know this one has been asked a couple of times, but maybe theres is one
now!?
Any advice on minimum/recommended requirements on a server running an
EJB server (processor and memory)? NT or Linux?
The client? I know that this depends a lot on the application running on
the client and not as much on the fact that it is talking to an EJB
Server, but have you any experience on what requirements to have on a
client with WIN95/98/NT running Java 2 (or Java 1.1.x) and a Swing
application? Any difference with a Linux client?
Always when i'm involved in discussions regarding Java and the EJB
technology we ends up with this: Why does we have to have such a
powerful client when we are talking about thin clients using distributed
components on one or more servers? Wasn't it this technology that would
bring back the old 386 in focus? Or at least the 486 or P75 with 16 Mb
ram. I'm not sure that I can guarantee a customer that our new hyper
modern system will work at these boxes and give them same performance as
their old DOS or native Windows applications...
