Is that Sun's CosNaming service provider, or some other?
(that is, what's the class name of the CosNaming service provider?)
I cannot comment on why implementations by others might not work,
but can speculate on why Sun's implementation might not work.
Sun's CosNaming service provider (1.0.1) works with Java IDL and depends
on the bootstrapping protocol specified in an older version of
the Interoperable Naming Service (INS) specification. Not many
vendors currently support this specification, and perhaps that is why things
work or not work depending on which CosNaming library you use.
An upcoming version of Sun's CosNaming service provider (for JNDI 1.2)
will provide better interoperabilty with ORBs that don't support INS.
If you are interested in testing a preview of this, please send me mail.
