This isn't exactly what you're asking for, but I have seen the doc for a
product called StyleReport from Inetsoft (http://www.inetsoftcorp.com),
which is a Java report writer framework.  It definitely allows you to access
your EJB services -- I don't recall whether or not it integrates with
3rd-party report writers or not.  I haven't had the chance to use
StyleReport yet, but judging from the docs, these guys truly get it.
