GemStone Professional Services has developed a pattern language of about 60
inter-related patterns in this area. We will soon begin publishing this
language with our "Developer's Guide" CD (see http://www.gemstone.com).
This pattern language formed the basis of our recent online seminar on J2EE
Best Practices, which is available at
http://www.netseminar.com/index.cgi?sem_num=198.

There is also a nascent collection of EJB patterns on the WikiWikiWeb at
http://www.c2.com/cgi/wiki?EjbRoadmap.

Tom Valesky's book, Enterprise Java Beans: Developing Component-Based
Distributed Applications (Addison-Wesley, 1999) also contains a chapter of
"tips and tricks" (basically heuristics, not patterns) on this topic.
