This is not a direct EJB question, please pardon me.
We are wrestling with the decision in the past couple
of days whether we use VCafe ent or JB ent editions.
There is no doubt we need an IDE :-), as opposed to
using an emacs editor. The choice needs to address a
wide range of people with different programming
expertise in Java/EJB. We found out that VCafe ent is
not EJB 1.1 compliant, whereas JB is. And enumerated
the following reasons why JB is better to use:
The EJB interface wizard differences - create methods
returning void vs primary-key object.
The ability to do hot-deploy through hooks to your app
server. Here there is the main problem we are facing.
This hook does not seem to work properly from VCafe
ent to do hot-deply into WL 5.1 server. Which is 1.1
compliant.
Can you help me understand the issues better? I
searched in the archives and on the internet in
general, but am unable to get more info.
