I actually worked on one of the predecessors to this product (NetDynamics).
Does iPlanet still have those wacky spider classes, or are all those
(and the promised compatability) non-existant at this point?

Also, I'm curious to hear whether there is CMP support for multiple table
read/updates, or compatability with one of the major O/R tools (TopLink, etc)

Thanks,
-David

Hi Chris,

I have had lots of success using the product.
My company has delivered a project on iAS6 already.

iAS6.0 and its early versions are excellent products once you get passed the
deployment learning curve.

Please let me know if you would like some professional help. I know this
product and the competitors very well.

Cheers,
Martin Gee

OK, EJB folks,
is there anybody out there who has already *working* experience
with IAS (by which I mean the iPlanet App Server 6.0)?
We have it "running" here but we are not able to handle it yet.
Already the installation was "a little bit" more difficult than with
competitor products. And after two weeks we still have not managed
to get a single demo application running (I don't mean such comlicated
things like own code; no, the demos that came with the app server).
Some - like the famous estore - work at least to a certain degree besides
"known issues" that are mentioned in the setup guide. Others just don't
work. We are certainly not the best app server gurus in the world, but
we are not idiots either (at least I hope so).
So if you think that it's our fault, and you can prove this by telling me
that you are actually able to work with IAS, than please tell me, so we know

that we must learn still more.
Thanks,
Christoph

P.S.
If somebody from Sun/Netscape is reading this:
- When can we download the patches for estore?
- Are the other demos really working?
- Do you expect the release of Forte for Java/Enterprise still this year?
- Any suggestions for a persistence framework that integrates into IAS 6.0?
