Hello,

Since some people have implied that only one or two servers support more advanced CMP
mappings than the most basic one-to-one-correspondance between a CMP Entity
bean and a table (or more specifically, that you can't find ejb's using anything more
than a basic select from one table), I feel compelled to mention that it's
not really such an uncommon feature. I know that at least Orion and Powertier (and
probably many more, excuse me for not spending the time to check this up)
supports this out-of-the-box and I know that CocoBase and/or TopLink is supposed to
bring O/R mapping to the rest which should solve your problem as well.

The problem is not that CMP implementations do not support this, but the problem is
that it is not standadized how this is done until EJB 2.0. The means that you
can not use these features and easily give your Enterprise Archive to another person
who can deploy it in their server without any add-ons.

Executive summary: The features are already there, but EJB 2.0 makes it all portable
