Hello Gaurav
I agree that SQL Server is not supported by WebSphere. And i am also very
clear that the drivers r not installed automatically.U have to select in the
admin console what Implemenation class u use.And i have only four
Implementation classes like
com.ibm.db2.jdbc.app.DB2Driver
oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
com.ibm.as400.access.AS400JDBCDriver
com.sybase.jdbc.SybDriver
i wanted to know when these Implentation classes r installed in my machine
and Where exactly.???
Also Gaurav... one documentation from IBM States that
"WebSphere Application Server 3.0 does not currently support SQL Server.
WebSphere Application Server 3.0 does work with Oracle and DB2.
You can access SQL Server (or any other database) from Servlets, JSPs,
Entity BMP or any Session beans through JDBC. However, you cannot use the
WebSphere Application Server connection manager to do so.
So from this point ,its clear that my Bean Managed Entity Beans can access
Sql Server thro Websphere but not Container managed Beans.
But another document from redbook states that
"To use the DB2 and Oracle JDBC drivers for servlets within WebSphere it is
necessary to include the driver classes in the WebSphere class path , and
add
c:\sqllib \java \db2java.zip (DB2)
c:\orant \Jdbc \lib \classes111.zip (Oracle)
to the Application Server Classpath Entry "
My Question is
Why should not i add my SQL Server Type IV Drivers to the class path so that
i can make CMP Beans also access WebSphere. Is it Possible and How???
Regards,
Arul
