Well, you are of course welcome to join the ZOLA effort at jBoss, which
is precisely for this kind of things.
Go to:

and click on ZOLA in the menu.
(Just realized that the page isn't exactly updated. The gist of the
project is as you outlined though. Join the mailing list and feel free
to voice your opinions on where it should go!)
