I would stronly advise you not use the JDBC-ODBC bridge in a multi-threaded
environment.  That driver is not thread safe and the simpleton locking
scheme used by the driver can rapidly lead to deadlock situations with the
locking being performed by the RDBMS.  I reccomend using a proper Type IV
JDBC driver.
