I am currently in the process of evaluating IDE's for j2ee development. As we are coming close, there seem to be two good options open for us as we seek for a platform independent IDE. Our two options are JBuilder and Forte. Althoug sun's website speaks of an Enterprice Edition I have not been able to find any data on it let alone an evaluation copy. This may seem like a stupid question, but is there really something like an enterprise edition of Forte? I have an evaluation of the internet edition (version 2) and have used beta versions of forte for 6 months last year. In all this time I have never seen any Enterprise Edition modules. Ok I have been able to do some ejb development in the netbeans edition by putting the necessary jars from my app server in the lib/ directory, but I like to have all the bells'n'whistles. So here come the questions: 1) Is there really a final version of the enterprise edition for Forte? 1a) If the answer is Yes on question 1, has anybody ever used it and how does it compare to other ide's?
