It would seem to be that since your collection is passed by value there's
not much you can do to make the second scenario return true.  Also, If I
remember correctly you may have to change your delay updates until end of
transaction (Weblogic) in conjunction with your isolation level so that any
changes are seen. This was with 1.1.
