Entity Beans (CMPs) and System Generated Primary Key

Can a Container Managed Entity bean be used with table having primary keys as identity 
column(s)? Or BMP is the only way to go? I am trying with CMP, SQL Server 7, Weblogic 
5.1 with no success.
