For all the databases in an SQL*Server:
1> select name from master..sysdatabases ;
For Oracle there is no exact equivalent because there is a 1:1 mapping
between instance and database (i.e. the server only contains one database).
You can look in $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin/tnsnames.ora for a list of known
instances (servers) or look in $ORACLE_HOME/dbs for the init.ora files, but
neither list is necessarily complete - it's up to the DBA and how Oracle is
installed at your site.
