I'm not talking about database rather datasource, because to create a datasource, u need to able to connect to the DB from ur server, which the problem in this case. But can u pls consider the scenario that I have depicted ?

And in normal scenario, that's on the same machine (more specifically on the same naming service). So if datasource in another server how can use that datasource from CMP ? The necessity of using datasource at other machine may be the other server is in VPN with the actual database located at some other location, where the local server has the access to other server but not to the database directly.
