Hi,

I am having problem accessing DB2 UDB V7.2 installed on Linux. I am
able to access the database from the same linux system on which DB2 is
installed. I have installed DB2 clients on Windows NT, and another
Linux system. Both of them are not able to locate the DB2 service
running on Linux. What could be the problem? I have checked the
services file in /etc folder, for the lines "db2cdb2inst1 50000/tcp"
and "db2idb2inst1 50001/tcp". The lines are already there in that
file. Also, I have added the line "<myLinuxIPAddress>
<myLinuxServerName>" in the file "C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc" in the
Windows NT system. I didn't add anything like this in another linux
system. Both the clients are not able to locate the server. When I
ping the Linux server, the response is coming. Also, I am able to copy
files from another system to the Linux DB2 System using FTP. I have
enabled FTP in the file /etc/xinetd.d/wu-ftpd".

I did the following to add a system to my DB2 client.
1. open control center.
2. right click on Systems and say<Add>
3. Select the operating system as Linux, Protocol TCP/IP, and say
<Refresh>. It is showing all the other systems except Linux DB2 server
system.

thanks in advance,

Venkat.
