Regarding framework

Hi, As you all know the struts is a frame work in the web tier for providing common application functionality such as dispatching requests, invoking model methods, and selecting and assembling views. The struts are meant for presentation layer. Can you please answer the below questions Can anybody tells me was there any similar kind of framework available for business layer Is it possible to develop a framework for business layer? If anybody is working on the struts and if you feel further enhancement of the struts while working with the struts please let me know.
