Even if I'm not a regular contributor, I'm definitely against. IMHO, mailing lists are more for the discussing about the project direction, lauch some debate or ask for some help. The commits just prevent people to concentrate on the real topics and issues I think. I fact, too verbose mailing lists make me run away. That's why I never posted on d-d-l.
