I'm not sure we can count on that code for the next gnome release.
I got sound events tests working this afternoon with gstreamer/sdl...
and pushed them this evening into svn.
Notice that even if it works for me... it would be nice if we had more
testing -- and I'm not sure we'll have enough of it before the freeze!
