I still get almost the same error (after setting CFLAGS and CXXFLAGS to --verbose -save-temps)
I am using 64bit Ubuntu (and therefore 64bit H.264 libs and libs-dev) for this cross compilation. Can this be a cause for this problem? _*ERROR OUTPUT:*_ GNU C++ version 4.2.1-sjlj (mingw32-2) (i586-mingw32msvc) compiled by GNU C version 4.2.3 20071210 (prerelease) (Ubuntu 4.2.2-4ubuntu1).
