Found the problem (and I have a local patch which I'll push soon), and
threads weren't the problem.

After hacking my way through tonight's changes to Ekiga master I got a
Win32 version in which the crash after call termination is fixed which,
however, has a crash on exit (only tested under Win7). The latter was
definitely not there yesterday.
