I'm running Ekiga 3.2.7 on a Windows XP SP3 machine. The program works
fine; I can place and receive calls. However I get random,
non-reproducible crashes that cause Windows to die, ending in a
blue-screen-of-death. None of the other software on my system ever
causes a blue screen.

I have gotten blue screens after changing preference settings, after
trying to paste a sip address or after trying to initiate a call from my
contacts list.

A typical blue screen will report

*** STOP: 0x0000007F (0x00000008, 0xBA350D70, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

and when I reboot I get in addition

BCCode : 1000007f BCP1 : 00000008 BCP2 : BA350D70 BCP3 : 00000000
BCP4 : 00000000 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 3_0 Product : 256_1

Submitting the error report to Microsoft results in "Unfortunately, the
error report you submitted is corrupted and can't be analyzed."

I couldn't get a gdb stack trace, but I have stderr outputs:

http://math-www.uni-paderborn.de/~axel/ekiga-stderr.1.txt.gz
(after pasting a sip address into the address bar)

http://math-www.uni-paderborn.de/~axel/ekiga-stderr.txt.gz
(after double clickling on the Echo test in Contacts)

I looked over them, without finding anything interesting (even after comparing with my output). Your problem is really strange...

Running ekiga inside gdb could provide some information, as it is executed in another execution context. Please try http://wiki.ekiga.org/index.php/Debugging_Ekiga#How_to_get_a_stack_backtrace_from_a_crash, it's very simple.
