If you receive an empty NOTIFY, you can not see that icon. You see that icon only if you do not receive a NOTIFY for that contact. If it is not the case, then you probably think you are running 3.0.2 with OPAL 3.4.4, but it is not the case.
Read my debug log. I am running 3.0.2 with OPAL 3.4.4. It says so right in the log. Here... I'll even link you to the RPM of OPAL 3.4.4 from a Fedora mirror: http://mirror.hiwaay.net/pub/fedora/linux/updates/10/x86_64/opal-3.4.4-1.fc10.x86_64.rpm
