Finance
Assistant
Responsibilities:
The position performs a full range of clerical duties for the project; assists in the finance/administrative work and help coordinate activities of the project.
Specific responsibilities include:
1. Process and facilitate release of DSA and operation cash account of the LDCCs;
2. Coordinate with the LDCC on papers they need to submit to FAO office (i.e; financial report on Operational cash account/petty cash and and Travel Expenses claim of LDCCs). Check all documents before
submitting it to Finance Unit.
3. Assists in preparation of periodic accounting records by recording receipt and disbursements (ledgers, cash books, vouchers, etc.) and reconciling data for recurring or special reports;
4. Compiles and verifies budget and accounting data by researching files, calculating costs and estimating anticipated expenditures from readily available information sources;
5. Maintain and update project expenditures.
6. When authorized, makes disbursements from petty cash fund, maintains records of these disbursements and balances accounts as required;
7. Drafts routine correspondence, telegrams, memoranda and reports from oral instructions. Previous correspondence or other available information sources in accordance with standard office procedures;
8. Classifies and codes material relating to a number of subject-matter areas and maintains general office files;
9. Operates office equipment such as typewriter, word processor and other similar keyboard equipment as required;
10.Assists newly arriving or departing international staff on opening or closing bank accounts, exchanging currency and other financial matters;
11.Performs other related duties as required.
Reporting Arrangement:
The position is under the general supervision of the FAO Representative of Indonesia , technical supervision of the Chief Technical Adviser of the OSRO/RAS/505/USA-Indonesia and the direct supervision of the Administrative Officer of the project.
Selection Criteria:
Specific criteria include
- A graduate of commerce or business administration;
- preferably with experience working with a development project;
- has a good knowledge of the English language; speaks Bahasa fluently
- good memo composition and typing skills.
- proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
- ability to work with individuals from different cultural/national backgrounds; good interpersonal and communication skills.
- ability to work with minimum supervision
Duration: Initially for 2 months, extendable up to end of September, 2007
Duty Station: Will be based in the FAO Representative Office in Indonesia but will be shuttling to the Project Office in the Directorate of Animal Health, Ministry of Agriculture, Jakarta , Indonesia as instructed.
Program Assistant
Responsibilities:

the project. Specific responsibilities include: 1. Assist the National Project Coordinator in coordination of the trainings and workshops with all the stakeholders involved; 2. Prepare and follow up invitation letters for the trainings/workshops being organized by the project; 3. Process and facilitate release of DSA and operation cash account of the LDCCs; 4. Coordinate with the LDCC on papers they need to submit to FAO office (i.e; financial report on Operational cash account/petty cash and and Travel Expenses claim of LDCCs).
