Maybe I'm off or I missed something where this was covered, but...

curl -XPUT 'localhost:9200/test'

curl -XPUT 'localhost:9200/test/.percolator/1' -d '
{
    "query": {
        "query_string": {
           "query": "headline:\"apples\""
        }
    },
    "attributes": {
        "query_name": "headline apples"
    }
}'

curl -XGET 'localhost:9200/test/test/_percolate' -d '
{
    "doc": {
        "headline": "apples"
    }
}'

----get the match I expect

curl -XPUT 'localhost:9200/test/test/1' -d '
{
    "doc": {
        "headline": "apples"
    }
}'

curl -XGET 'localhost:9200/test/test/1/_percolate'

no match

workstation. I can roll back the yml to the most basic one if that helps.
