Hi, I am using ES 1.3.1. I have registered 2.8 million saved searches in a dedicated percolator index, spread across 16 shards, 2 replicas and 8 nodes (separate vm instances on separate physical hardware). If I run exactly the same percolate request multiple times one after another or even intermittently, it can take anywhere from less than 200ms to 5 seconds to execute. Any ideas as to why such a variance in response times? If you need additional information I'll be happy to provide it.
