Good Evening,

Twenty meters was a little stronger than last week.  Plenty of storm noise but signals were good enough to dig out.  Two to three S units of QSB but it was slow.  The static hissing and lightning snapping made copy interesting too.  Forty meters was weaker than last weekend.  Some QSB and more storm noise.  I am pretty sure those storms were near me because I had heard thunder earlier in the day.  Most of the lightning stayed in the Columbia River Gorge.

Between nets I was outside for a few moments of quiet.  A nearby elk broke the silence with an eerie squeal.  Then back to the sound of wind in the fir trees.  The birds, squirrels, and I quietly wondered about the elk.
