The actual wording is “This is the sort of nonsense up with which I will not 
put”.

It’s often attributed to Winston Churchill but there’s some debate about that.

A lot of the modern bad grammar, I put down to the current media. TV announcers 
in particular who are supposed to be educated but insist on bastardising the 
English language.

Whose idea was it to shorten words such as “victim” and “perpetrator” to “vic” 
and “perp”?
