A couple of years ago when I was in the market for headphones, someone on another mailing list recommended Radio Shack Model 33-1198 headphones. Since there's a Radio Shack close to where I live, I decided to buy these phones instead of ordering something over the Net and waiting for them to arrive.
They are monaural headphones made for use with a scanner at racing events. That being the case, they are pretty good at blocking out ambient noise. They cost $50. RS also has a "noise cancelling" version for $70. After bending the head strap a little (I have a big head), I got them to where they're quite comfortable. I can wear them for hours during a contest. 73! Dan KB6NU --------------------------------------------------------------------------- President, ARROW Comm. Assn.
